HUGE NEWS: We're movin' to the 'Big Room'! On a new date: February 22nd, 2009!
This news is so huge, the Scherr forum couldn't even hold it! We received such a great response from an equally great amount of talented musicians that the room we secured at the Thousand Oaks Civic Center (The Scherr Forum) wonít be large enough to hold all of the artists, fans and family, as well as the incredible sponsors who are making this event possible!
So, after some heavy consideration, we have decided to move the event into the Kavli Theatre at the Thousand Oaks Civic Center. This is a beautiful venue with 1,800 seats that allows everyone to be at the MAVRIC Awards!
Mark the NEW DATE: Sunday, February 22nd, 2009! Need an easy way to remember the new date? Just think 2-2-2. And plan to stick around for the incredible after party (more news on that to come)...
Trust us, this is great news! When the songs and voting forms are placed online in early December, you will find a treasure of local artist’s music to listen to and place your vote for.

We are more than excited to announce that the 2008 MAVRIC Awards will be held in the Schurr Forum at the Thousand Oaks Civic Center. This is an incredible venue with top notch everything!
Once we announce ticket sales (for non-nominated individuals: supporters, fans, etc), you will want to act fast. This is a 400 seat intimate auditorium and seats will sell out fast!
Last year’s MAVRIC Awards were held in October. This year’s awards will be on Sunday, January 25th, 2009. Yes, 2009. Don’t worry, we’ve thought of your two main concerns.
The NAMM show will occur the weekend before, and for all of you football fans who don’t want to miss a bit of NFL playoff action, the MAVRIC Awards occur on the off week, in between the NFC/AFC Championship Weekend and Superbowl Sunday.
This year, we will be accepting applications for nomination for the 2008 MAVRIC Awards from Monday, September 1st through Saturday, November 1st!
We are looking to streamline the application process and make it as efficient and beneficial as possible. How does this make it beneficial to our nominees? We have some things cooking in the oven. We can’t say what they are yet, but I can’t wait ‘til we can!
The mix and master has been completed for sometime and we can’t wait to get it out!
As you can see, we’ve been redecorating around here and want to make sure that we include that on our 2007 compilation CD as well. We want it to be the best product possible! Stayed tuned for release date info!
